Description of Duties:

Role of The Board of Directors
WJT's Board of Directors is a committed group of individuals with a passion for the performing arts and a deep commitment to the organization's future health and growth. They are ambassadors for WJT and theatre in the greater community.

What would my role be as a Board Director?
You will directly contribute to the strategic development of the organization and ensure the sound and sustainable development of the company through good governance practices. Board members play an active role in WJT's annual fundraising campaign and in fostering partnerships with community partners and local businesses.

What would my role be as the Secretary?
Record the minutes (take notes) from each Board of Directors meeting and submit them to the WJT office for distribution in a timely manner. Attend Executive Board Member meetings as required (1-2 times per year).

The Board meets once every 6-8 weeks from September - June in Winnipeg. All Board members are expected to participate in an annual fundraiser, contribute an annual donation or volunteer at the shows, and attend WJT performances and events throughout the year.
