The WRENCH's mission is to create stronger, healthier communities by removing barriers to building, repairing and maintaining bicycles - with a focus on educating youth.

The WRENCH is a registered charity. We make bicycles and cycling accessible to the public by:

Providing programming, education and resources for community members, groups and organizations
Supporting and promoting bicycle use in the Winnipeg
Supporting new and existing community bike shops

Description of Duties:

Join us for another 24-hour kids' bike building marathon, where we will prepare over 400 kids' bikes to distribute to community-serving organizations around Winnipeg. A variety of volunteer roles are available-


Mechanic stand: Tune up kids bikes by yourself or with a team! Each stand has room for up to three people.


Reflectors: Attach front and rear reflectors to every kid's bikes.


Bike wash: Use our indoor bike wash station to hose down every bike that passes the quality control.


Quality control: Check over every bike that is finished by a mechanic. Quality control ensures that the bikes are safe and reliable. Volunteers with experience working as a mechanic are preferred.


Bike valet: This is an outdoor shift monitoring our bike parking area. The bike parking area will have a patio heater but it still requires that volunteers be outside for three hours so dress for the weather!


Kitchen: Help keep everyone fed by volunteering at our kitchen. Work with our kitchen staff to serve lunch, dinner, breakfast to our hard working volunteers!

   
Skills Required:

All abilities and skillsets are welcome-there's something for everyone. Mechanical ability is an asset but not required. See task descriptions for further details.

   
Skills Gained/Related Careers:

Volunteers gain experience working with bicycles in a DIY community setting. Come participate in something positive alongside members of your community!
