West Broadway Youth Outreach (WBYO) is a non-profit organization located in the heart of Winnipeg's inner city. We strive to provide equal opportunities for all youth to help them reach their limitless potential.


We are currently looking for Volunteer Youth Workers to join our team!




About the Role:



As a Volunteer Youth Worker, you will play a key role in supporting WBYO's programs for children ages 4-12. You will work alongside program coordinators to help prepare, facilitate, and wrap up daily activities - from arts and crafts, literacy programs, games, to exciting field trips!



Your presence will help create a safe, respectful, and fun environment where kids can thrive. You will also assist with light administrative tasks, help steward donations, and support events as needed.



This is a volunteer role. You will gain valuable hands-on experience, references, and the reward of making a positive impact in your community.

  • Currently in high school, college, or university (or graduate in a related field like Education, Child Care, Recreation, Psychology, Social Work, etc.)



  • Class 5 Driver's License



  • First Aid & CPR certification



  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training



  • Knowledge or lived experience related to inner-city communities, especially West Broadway






Volunteer Details:





  • Time Commitment: Flexible shifts Monday-Friday, typically between 5+ hours/week (based on your availability)



  • Additional opportunities may arise on weekends depending on events



  • We are happy to work with your schedule and can provide documentation for school credit or volunteer hours
