Organizational Description: Inclusion Winnipeg Inc. Is a nonprofit organization with charitable status and a 65-year history of supporting and advocating for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Our vision is an inclusive Winnipeg where people with intellectual disabilities and their families are valued equally and able to participate fully in all aspects of society. We carry out our mission through family engagement and individual advocacy; advocacy at all levels of government for effective public policy in the advancement of universal human rights; public awareness and education and mobilizing community action.

Description of Duties:

Inclusion Winnipeg is a registered charity that, for over 60 years, has been dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults living with intellectual disabilities. They do this by connecting people, assisting their families to navigate systems and leading the way in advancing their human rights. They promote respect, empowerment and belonging to ensure equality for all.



What we're looking for:


We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals with diverse backgrounds and skills. Whether you are an experienced professional or a passionate advocate, your unique perspective can make a significant impact.

   
Skills Required:

Ideal candidates will have:


• A commitment to Inclusion Winnipeg's mission, vision and values
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: governance, accounting, investment management. Finance, fundraising, legal, human resources or public relations
• A willingness to actively participate in board meetings, committees and events
• The ability to think strategically and work collaboratively
• A passion for creating a more inclusive and equitable society.


Responsibilities include:



• Attend and actively participate in monthly Board meetings
• Contribute to strategic planning and organizational oversight
• Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management
• Abiding by the bylaws and policies of the organization
• Enhancing Inclusion Winnipeg's public image
