Description of Duties: | Community Nutrition Educators (CNEs) are trained volunteers who provide reliable, unbiased, and current information on healthy eating and food to the community. CNEs work with a variety of people and groups in all community areas of Winnipeg. Some examples of activities and topics include: |
Skills Required: | -Basic knowledge and experience in food selection, preparation, and storage |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | Learn more about safe food handling and nutrition, share knowledge and skills to help others in the community. Meet new people and an opportunity to develop and practice communication and leadership skills. |

Time Commitment: | Daytime , Evening , Micro Volunteering X
Micro Volunteering - any self contained volunteer opportunity that can be completed in a short amount of time, often through a web-enabled device. Be available to attend 28+ hours training during business hours, training shifts approximately 4 hours, once weekly (start date pending mid-September) Shifts are negotiated based on community requests, successful candidates must fulfill 3 requests per year, and commit to a minimum of one year. Shifts are typically 2 hours in length. |
