Organizational Description: The Goldwings donate their time to welcome and assist travellers and visitors at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport. Easy to spot in their uniforms that feature a touch of gold, the Goldwings are on duty daily to provide an added layer of service and support.

Description of Duties:

  • Greet travelers and guests with warmth and courtesy, helping set the tone for a positive airport experience.

  • Offer timely and respectful assistance, answering questions and providing directions or information as needed.

  • Help enhance the overall travel experience by creating a calm, welcoming, and supportive environment throughout the airport.

  • Represent Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA), the airport, and our community with professionalism and pride.

  • Proactively engage with passengers, listening attentively, offering support, and ensuring clarity through follow-up questions when necessary.

  • Remain present in active passenger zones, where support is most needed, and avoid extended periods in non-passenger or restricted areas during slower times.

  • Commit to a minimum of 100 volunteer hours per calendar year to maintain active status within the program.

YWG Goldwings volunteers play a key role in creating a warm, helpful, and welcoming environment for all who pass through Winnipeg Richardson International Airport. To succeed in this role, volunteers should demonstrate the following skills and qualities:
