Description of Duties:

Access to Therapy Initiative is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to lead our volunteer grants committee as Chair. This is a key leadership role within a small, high-impact nonprofit providing free mental health counseling to low-income Canadians.


The Grants Committee Chair will:




  • Coordinate and oversee a small team of grant volunteers



  • Assign and track grant applications using Notion (training provided)



  • Set and maintain application deadlines and follow-ups



  • Motivate and support volunteers to complete applications



  • Work closely with the Founder/CEO to align funding strategy with organizational goals



  • Provide a brief monthly summary of progress, challenges, and wins



Time commitment: ~4-5 hours per week, fully remote. Meetings are flexible and based on your availability.

   
Skills Required:


  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, or project coordination



  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage small teams



  • Familiarity with digital tools such as Notion, Google Docs, or equivalent platforms



  • Ability to work independently and lead others without day-to-day supervision



  • Clear communication and a collaborative mindset



We are specifically seeking someone with prior experience in grants or nonprofit operations. This role is not suitable for individuals seeking mentorship or introductory exposure to the field.
