Description of Duties:

Volunteers are the heart of what we do - and we're looking for someone to help support, guide, and cheer them on! As our Volunteer Coordinator, you'll be the friendly point of contact for new and existing volunteers, helping them get started, feel informed, and stay connected. You'll manage our volunteer database, run virtual orientations, and make sure everyone has the info they need to do what they do best: help dogs in need.

This is an important role that helps keep our whole organization running smoothly - but don't worry, you won't be alone. You'll work closely with other coordinators and be supported every step of the way.

We know life can get busy, so if you're organized, a strong communicator, and enjoy connecting with people, this might be the perfect behind-the-scenes role for you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Welcoming new volunteers, helping them get started, and hosting virtual orientation sessions.

  • Keeping volunteer info (availability, interests, skills) up to date in our system.

  • Staying in touch with volunteers to share opportunities and updates.

  • Matching volunteers with tasks and ensuring they're set up for success.

  • Tracking volunteer hours and maintaining records.

  • Participating in events and activities to stay connected to the team.

  • Collaborating with our Events and Fundraising teams to fill volunteer shifts.

  • Helping us continually improve how we support our volunteer team.

Skills Required:

You'd be a great fit if you:

  • Are a good communicator who enjoys helping others succeed.

  • Are organized and detail-oriented.

  • Can commit to checking in on emails daily and participating in team chats when needed.

  • Have experience with Google Docs/Sheets, databases, and email - or are willing to learn.

  • Are self-motivated and dependable.

  • Have experience in volunteer coordination or people management (a bonus, but not required).

  • Are excited to be part of a team and love dogs as much as we do.
