Description of Duties:

The West Central Women's Resource Centre (WCWRC) is currently looking to fill three board positions. This is an excellent opportunity to support a vibrant, vital organization in Winnipeg's West End.

About WCWRC

The WCWRC empowers women, families, and the community to move from where they are to where they want to be.

The centre provides a wide range of programming and services, including food security, housing, skill building, violence recovery and healing. The centre serves a diverse community, including participants who are Indigenous, refugees, immigrants, members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and those living with disabilities. Our programming is trauma-informed, rooted in harm reduction and centres the experiences of women working towards their own empowerment. For more information about the centre, please visit https://wcwrc.ca.

About the board positions

We currently have a strong, engaged board with a range of experience and perspectives. We want to continue to grow as the centre continues to grow.

The following positions are open:

  • Three board positions for a 2-year term, with the option to extend.

  • One of the positions will serve as the Board Treasurer and require the candidate to be a CPA in good standing.

We are seeking women-identified and non-binary individuals who understand and respect what the centre does in the community and value our ways of working. We are working to ensure that our board reflects the community we serve, and we would welcome applications from women who identify as Indigenous, Black, people of colour, refugees or as a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. We also value lived experience and welcome applications from those who have first-hand knowledge of our community's challenges.
