Description of Duties: |
The Grant and Funding Sponsorship Budget Writer is responsible for preparing accurate, compliant, and persuasive budgets to support funding proposals, sponsorship requests, and grant applications. This role focuses exclusively on the financial and budgetary components of applications, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Budget Preparation
Develop detailed budgets for grant and sponsorship applications in collaboration with program and finance teams.
Ensure all proposed costs are accurate, realistic, and directly linked to project objectives and deliverables.
Translate program plans into clear, funder-ready financial frameworks.
Compliance & Alignment
Ensure all budgets meet funder guidelines, eligibility criteria, and allowable expense categories.
Review application requirements to align financials with funder priorities and reporting expectations.
Maintain consistency between narrative proposals and budget justifications.
Budget Justification & Documentation
Prepare written budget justifications that clearly explain cost assumptions and allocations.
Provide supporting documentation (quotes, cost estimates, historical data) when required.
Revise and adjust budgets based on funder or internal feedback.
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with program leads to understand project scope, staffing, and resource needs.
Collaborate with finance staff to ensure alignment with organizational accounting practices.
Support post-award budget revisions and assist with financial reporting to funders when needed.
