Organizational Description: Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre Inc. (PWRC) is a non-profit charity organization whose main goal is to treat injured and orphaned wildlife in Manitoba and to successfully release them back into their natural habitat. To maximize survival rates and ensure integration once in the wildlife population, PWRC uses effective and state of the art rehabilitation techniques, such as integrative medical therapies, including both conventional and homeopathic medications, as well as attention to environmental enrichment techniques. The PWRC also takes an active role in public education regarding wildlife issues. We are located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Description of Duties:

This is a term volunteer position - June 2025 and ending on September 7, 2025 ( option to continue volunteering past end date)


Role Overview: Education Volunteer


As an Education Volunteer, you will be instrumental in delivering engaging presentations to schools, community groups, and public events. These sessions often feature our non-releasable wildlife ambassadors-animals that, due to various circumstances, cannot return to the wild and now serve as educational representatives. Your responsibilities will include:​




  • Conducting interactive presentations in classrooms, libraries, festivals, and other community venues.



  • Participating in special event and wildlife education booths



  • Assisting in the care and handling of wildlife ambassadors during presentations.



  • Participating in training sessions to stay informed about wildlife conservation topics.​
