Description of Duties:


Golden Rule Seniors Resource Centre, located at 625 Osborne Street, Winnipeg, is offering a volunteer opportunity exclusively for high school students - with the possibility of paid employment through the Canada Summer Jobs 2025 program (eligibility criteria must be met, International Students are not eligible)!




Description of Duties: Recreation Program Leader



As a Recreation Program Leader, you will play a key role in helping seniors stay active, engaged, and socially connected through creative and inclusive programming. Your duties will include:





  1. Assisting with the planning and facilitation of recreational and social programs such as games, light physical activities, arts & crafts, and special events



  2. Setting up rooms and materials before programs, and helping clean up after



  3. Welcoming participants and encouraging inclusive participation



  4. Gathering feedback from seniors to improve program quality



  5. Creating simple flyers or schedules to promote upcoming activities



  6. Supporting staff and volunteers during larger events or field trips



  7. Helping track attendance and noting participation trends



  8. Bringing a positive, respectful, and caring attitude to every session
