Organizational Description: The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority's (WRHA) Community Health and Corporate Services Volunteer Program provides meaningful public engagement, develops effective partnerships, mobilizes appropriate volunteer and community resources, supports a positive working environment and enhances the WRHA's capacity to support and deliver quality services.

Volunteers are placed in the community, supporting a variety of programs within Public Health, Primary Care and Corporate.

Description of Duties:

Anticipated Start Date ASAP, please note availability requirements: 1 shift, biweekly on Tuesdays 12:30pm to 3:30pm.


Summary of Duties: Assist staff and participants within the Healthy Baby program with setting up room, preparation of simple snacks, greeting parents/families, participating in group discussion on health and wellness topics related to parenting, preparing and clean-up of supplies.

Skills Required:

  • A clear criminal record and child abuse registry check within the past 6 months

  • Willingness to attend virtual WRHA volunteer orientation and role specific training

  • Previous experience with infants and preschool children is an asset

  • Ability and comfortable with approaching people in a friendly, supportive manner; comfortable with people from different cultures and backgrounds

  • Physically able to perform tasks including room set up and clean up

  • Basic cooking skills to prepare simple snacks

  • Ability to work in a busy environment and to adapt to the program needs

Length of Commitment: o provide consistency for group participants and staff, a minimum commitment of six months is desired.


Shifts:1 shift bi-weekly, Tuesdays 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM
