Description of Duties:

This position is ideal for people of all ages looking to enhance their fitness and organizational abilities. In this role, you will:


Plan and Organize Activities: Coordinate and set up the games of Floor Curling, Carpet Bowling, Shuffleboard, and Pickleball. You can choose to facilitate one, several, or all of these games, ensuring that all equipment is available, properly set up, and safe to use. Ensure games run smoothly, fairly, and on schedule.


Provide Support and Guidance: Assist seniors with varying skill levels by offering tips and encouragement to enhance their experience and skill development in each game.


Feedback and Improvement: Collect feedback from participants to improve the sessions and tailor activities to better meet the interests and needs of the group.

   
Skills Required:

Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, set up, and coordinate multiple activities, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.


Leadership and Facilitation: Confident in leading groups, managing game flow, and maintaining a positive atmosphere.


Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think on your feet, resolve conflicts, and adapt activities to suit participants' needs.


Safety Awareness: Understanding of basic safety protocols to ensure participants' well-being during activities.


Patience and Empathy: Understanding the needs of seniors, showing patience, and offering support in a kind and respectful manner.

Leadership and Team Management: Develop the ability to lead group activities, manage diverse participants, and coordinate with other volunteers or staff members, which are valuable skills for supervisory roles in recreation, sports, and community services.


Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Enhance skills in communicating effectively with seniors, giving clear instructions, and building rapport-skills that are transferable to careers in social work, healthcare, education, and customer service.
