Description of Duties: | Position Overview: We are seeking Citizenship Class Facilitators to lead classes delivered either online or in person to help permanent residents prepare for the Canadian Citizenship Test. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to support newcomers in their journey toward Canadian citizenship. Course materials and content are provided; facilitators focus on delivering and supporting participants' learning. Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate six 2-hour classes delivered either online or in person to assist permanent residents in preparing for the Canadian Citizenship Test. Deliver lessons based on the Discover Canada Guide, covering key topics such as Canadian history, government, and contemporary society. Provide clear instruction and support to help participants understand the material and build confidence for the test. Encourage questions and discussion to support learning. Skills Required: | Qualifications and Skills Required Fluent English speaker. Experience facilitating classes or workshops using Zoom (for online delivery). Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint. Experience teaching Canadian History or Social Studies is an asset. In-depth knowledge of Canadian history, geography, and government. Ability to work with individuals from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with adult learners with low to intermediate English proficiency. |

Time Commitment: | Daytime , Evening , Weekend , Remote Volunteering Schedule Classes are delivered either online via Zoom or in person at the Immigrant Centre. One day a week for 6 weeks or two days a week for 3 weeks. Classes usually run Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. In-person classes may also be scheduled on Saturday mornings or afternoons. |
