Organizational Description: Our Mission is 'To act in stewardship for Henteleff Park'. The Park is 50 acres of natural beauty located at 1964 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg. The volunteer run and non-profit Henteleff Park Foundation is dedicated to caring for the Park through restoration and conservation of its lands, plants, and wildlife; partnership with the community; education about its existing ecology and many layered human and ecological history.

Description of Duties:

Volunteers remove and dispose of invasive weeds throughout the Park. Work at your own pace, choose your own hours. Orientation is provided. This is a good opportunity for individuals and families who want to learn about the environment and work outdoors.

   
Skills Required:

Ability to follow directions, bend over or kneel to pull weeds, lift and dispose of weeds.

   
Skills Gained/Related Careers:

Volunteers will learn more about native prairie plants, wildlife, get fresh air and exercise and contribute to the maintenance of this special environment.
