ParentChild+ Home Visitor - Brandon MB

ParentChild+ is an early literacy program designed to support parents in their role as their child's first and most important teacher.
A Home Visitor is matched with a parent and their two-year-old child, and visits the family's home twice a week, for half an hour.
The Home Visitor brings books and toys to the home and models play and positive interaction between parent and child.

• You can maintain boundaries while building a strong relationship with a family.

• Gain experience beneficial to career goals including early education, social work and health care.


• Expand knowledge of child development and the importance of the parent-child bond.


• Enjoy the personal satisfaction that comes with making a difference in the life of a family.

• Initial training is about 12 hours spread over several evenings or weekend days.


• Total weekly commitment is about three hours, which includes two home visits, one weekly volunteer meeting, and completing short reports.


• Visit times are arranged to suit the schedules of the family and Home Visitor.


• We ask that a Home Visitor is willing to commit to one program year, which typically runs from October through May.
