| Organizational Description: | United for Literacy (formally known as Frontier College) is a national literacy organization operating a wide variety of programs in locations across Canada. We recruit and train volunteer tutors who assist children, youth, and adults to acquire essential literacy and numeracy skills. We also partner with community-based organizations to help them establish and deliver literacy programs that meet the specific needs of their communities and participants. As Canada's original literacy organization, United for Literacy has been recruiting dedicated volunteers to work with Canadian children, youth, and adults from coast to coast to coast since 1899. | Description of Duties: | United for Literacy Manitoba is currently recruiting Volunteer Tutors to support our online Math club on 1 evening a week from 6:00pm-7:00pm (week day TBD). The program will operate on the Zoom platform and will be run by one of our literacy interns. The volunteers will work with a small group of children between the ages of 6-17 in breakout rooms.
