Description of Duties: | On October the 5th, The CIBC Run for the Cure event is back across Canada! The CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada's largest, single-day volunteer-led event in support of the breast cancer cause. The annual walk/run would not be possible without the hard work of our dedicated volunteers. At the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), we are seeking volunteers to join our local CIBC Run for the Cure planning committee. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities available. The CCS is recruiting for the following roles : - Run Day Experience Lead - Registration Lead - Volunteer Engagement Lead - Community Engagement Run Director - Fundraising and Stewardship Lead - Hope Engagement Lead - Community and Corporate Outreach Lead Join the CIBC Run for the Cure today and help make a real difference for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer. |
Skills Required: | Strong organizational and time management skills. The ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Exceptional communication skills. Willing to support fundraising and community outreach activities. Access to a computer with internet and willingness to use new software programs. Passion for the breast cancer cause. |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | Contributing to the organization's mission of creating a world where no Canadian fears cancer. Fundraising and event management experience. Working collaboratively with like minded volunteers in the community. Building relationships in your community. |
Age: | 18-30, 31-54, 55+ |
Time Commitment: | Daytime , Evening , Weekend Monthly committee meetings from May to July and biweekly in August and September. Weekly tasks averaging 2-5 hours per week depending your role and the time of year. Attendance and leadership role at pre-Run events/opportunities. In person availability the week before and after the CIBC Run for the Cure (October 5, 2025). |
