Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
Description of Duties: | 1) Public Speaking: Present/facilitate virtually (Zoom or other platforms) to various community groups and/or health care orgnizations on osteoporosis and bone health. 2) Facilitate support or other groups as per interest level. 3) Assist occasionally with projects such as outreach, coordination, program improvements/development as per interest level. |
Skills Required: | 1) Health or fitness background. 2) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations. 3) Empathy and understanding of people dealing with health issues. 4)Virtual platforms such as zoom (or willingness to learn) and basic computer skills |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | 1) Enhance facilitation skills. 2) Suitable for (retired) HCP, fitness leaders, physiotherapists, people with a special interest in healthy living, bone health and osteoporosis. 4) Join a network of like minded volunteers. |
Age: | 31-54, 55+ |
Time Commitment: | Daytime, Evening Average 4 - 6 hours per month, primarily weekdays. Possibly 2-3 hours evenings per year. Possible special projects if interested. |
