Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: 1) Public Speaking: Present to various community and health care groups on osteoporosis and bone health.
2) Work at health fairs or similar events.
3) Special projects
4) Seek out groups to present to.
Skills Required: 1) An interest in health promotion.
2) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
3) Empathy and understanding of health issues.
4) Basic computer skills
Skills Gained/Related Careers: 1) Enhance / develop public speaking skills.
2) Health knowledge related to living a healthier lifestyle.
3) Learn more about osteoporosis and bone health.
4) Meet new people - join a network of like minded volunteers.
Age: 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime
Average of 3-6 hours per month, primarily daytime. Possibly 2-3 evenings per year.
