| Description of Duties: | Under the direction of Parent Educators and and Early Childhood Educator, volunteers attend one half day per week throughout the school year to care for and play with infants and toddlers (from newborn to approximately 18 months old). Morning shifts are 9am-noon, and afternoon shifts are 1-3:30pm. |
| Skills Required: | Prior experience with and a high level of comfort with holding and caring for infants from a few days old to approximately 18 months of age is REQUIRED for this volunteer placement. Helping out in the Parent/Child Centre can be quite physically demanding, requiring a lot of strength (our babies range from newborn to 35 lbs), endurance, an excellent sense of balance, and the ability to get on the floor to play and to safely stand up from the floor with a baby in arms. |
