Join our Summer Leadership Series to enhance your leadership skills! This workshop is perfect for anyone starting their leadership journey in the non-profit sector, and those who are new to managing staff.

In this course you will develop the foundational skills to prepare you for the pressures faced by the non-profit sector. You will move forward with an informed and strengthened foundation, critical leadership competencies, and new resources that will help strengthen your leadership potential.

When: This summer! Once a week for six weeks.

Dates: July 8,15,22, 29 & August 5, 12, 2025

Time: 9:00am - 11:00am

Format: Combination of lesson content delivery, open discussion and peer support!

Where: Zoom (easy to join us from in front of your fire place or desk, your choice!)

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the environmental forces and pressures that will challenge non-profit leadership in the coming decade
  • Describe the difference between management and leadership and assess your current leadership competency levels against those needed in today's non-profit environment
  • Use your organization's values, vision and mission to build an engaged, adaptive team
  • Think strategically to encourage innovation, problem-solve and make decisions in a dynamic environment
  • Evaluate your emotional intelligence to create a climate of trust and authenticity
  • Identify strategies to manage your time and stress so you can persevere through complexity and ambiguity
  • Practice communication techniques to manage conflict and build constructive relationships

Course Cancellation Policy

Volunteer Manitoba may decide to cancel or postpone any event where the minimum registration level has not been met. In the case of low in-person registration, Volunteer Manitoba may decide to host the workshop virtually instead. If you wish to not participate virtually, you will receive a full refund.

All participants registered for an event that is cancelled by Volunteer Manitoba will receive a full refund.

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received within 10 days of the event. Registered participants who fail to attend an event are still required to pay for that event, since a space was held specifically for that person. In case of non-attendance and lack of payment, the registered participant will be invoiced for the full fee, due 30 days from the date of the invoice.
