October 27, 2021
09:00 AM to 09:30 AM

Do you write proposals and grants often? Do you want to learn more from others who also write? We invite you to our Writing Persuasive Proposals for Advanced Grant Writers!

This workshop is for someone with a higher than base knowledge of how to write a proposal and/or grant and who is looking for ways to advance their skills and learn from other professionals in the field.

Proposal writing is one of the most challenging but also rewarding parts of working in the non-profit world. We all operate on very tight budgets, so the opportunity to pursue new programs or projects can be very enticing, but the competition is strong. Having the skills to write a persuasive proposal is essential to successfully accessing funding and grant opportunities.

This half-day workshop will explore the structure of a proposal and the art of persuasion in your writing. It will review the steps you need to take to prepare your proposal, and get you chatting with others who do similar work!

Learning Objectives:

  • Review the components of a great proposal
  • Identify the steps to research, prepare and write a proposal
  • Describe best practices for a successful proposal submission
  • Explore the importance of developing relationships with funders and understanding their requirements
