April 18th, 2024 marked a milestone for our organization as we gathered to celebrate our province's incredible volunteers at the 40th Annual Volunteer Awards ceremony. It was a night filled with gratitude, inspiration, and a deep sense of pride as we recognized the selfless efforts of those who dedicate their time and energy to making a positive impact on their communities.

As we reflect on the success of this year's event, we are filled with a sense of optimism for the future. Volunteers truly are the superheroes of our community, and it brings us great joy and honour to celebrate each and every one of them.

The 40th Annual Volunteer Awards took place at the Club Regent Event Centre. The challenges of the pandemic forced us to host this event virtually for the past three years, so we were very excited to celebrate in person once again. With nearly 300 guests in attendance, we recognized 21 different volunteers or groups across nine different categories, for their contributions to community. The venue buzzed with anticipation as volunteers, community leaders, and supporters gathered to acknowledge the extraordinary contributions of those who selflessly give their time, energy, and skills to make our community a better place.

The event kicked off with heartfelt speeches from local dignitaries, expressing gratitude for the invaluable impact volunteers have on our community's well-being. We were joined by The Honourable Anita Neville, Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care, Uzoma Asagwara, and City of Winnipeg Mayor, Scott Gillingham, amongst many other community leaders, supporters, friends and families to celebrate this momentous occasion.

Highlights from the Past 40 Years

We showcased highlights from the past 40 years of the event, sharing photos of previous award recipients, and the evolution of the event over time, highlighting the longstanding commitment to honoring volunteers in the community.

    Thank you!

We want to express our deepest appreciation to all of Manitoba's volunteers for their exceptional contributions and look forward to another year of making a difference together. We'd also like to thank each and every one of our sponsors for helping to make this event a great success, as your support is invaluable. Thank you to all our guests for attending, and we're already looking forward to planning next year's event.
