| Organizational Description: | Grateful Friends Animal Rescue is a foster-based and 100% volunteer run rescue in Manitoba that was founded in April 2020. Most of our foster homes are in Winnipeg but we do have multiple fosters in surrounding communities. We focus on forming working relationships with indigenous communities across Manitoba by providing community outreach programs such as vaccine and spay/neuter clinics, information to pet owners, and taking animals into our care that are homeless or need medical care. Being a volunteer run rescue we rely on donations and fundraising to be able to pay off vet bills so we can continue to help as many animals as possible. |

| Time Commitment: | Daytime , Evening , Weekend , Flexible Hours We really need our community's help to keep this space available for animals. Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours, but the hours are flexible! Volunteers can choose what hours they would like to volunteer on their scheduled day. You aren't required to fit into a specific time slot, making it easier to work your shift around your own schedule. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to one shift per week. If we receive enough interest and build a larger volunteer team, we may be able to offer the option of one shift every two weeks instead. The two-hour minimum ensures there is enough time to complete everything that needs to be done while still giving the animals the attention, cuddles and love they deserve. Even two hours once a week can help us continue providing this space for animals who need somewhere safe to go. |
