About Us The West End Cultural Centre (WECC), located at 586 Ellice Avenue in Winnipeg, MB, is a vibrant community-driven live-music venue with a strong legacy of presenting diverse performances ranging from folk to punk rock. Our more than 200+ volunteers contribute thousands of hours each year to help make the venue welcoming, safe, fun and memorable.
Volunteer Role & Responsibilities As a WECC office volunteer, you'll work behind the scenes with our staff to keep our information accurate, organized and up to date. Typical tasks include:
- Entering and updating information in our databases and spreadsheets (volunteer records, contact lists, event details)
- Proofreading and editing written materials such as event listings, newsletters, program copy and website content
- Checking records for accuracy, consistency and duplicates, and flagging anything that needs follow-up
- Organizing and maintaining digital files and records
- Occasionally answering the phone
- Selling tickets
- Providing general office and administrative support as needed

Who We're Looking For
- Age requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.
- Comfortable using a computer and common software such as spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), word processors and email.
- A sharp eye for detail, with good spelling, grammar and a knack for spotting inconsistencies.
- No prior office experience required - we'll show you our systems. What we do ask for: accuracy, reliability, discretion with personal information, and the ability to work independently.
- A genuine interest in live music and community arts is a strong plus.
