| Description of Duties: | Help us to create a safe, fun, and supportive space for families at the Mamingwey Burn Survivor Community Forum! While burn survivors, adult family members, hospital staff and firefighters attend vital conference sessions, we need enthusiastic volunteers to care for their amazing kids! Our event takes place at Canad Inns Polo Park and we require volunteers on Oct.16th. Age-appropriate activities will be provided to help keep the children entertained. Volunteers would be expected to play with and complete activities with the children while also maintaining a tidy environment and cleaning up at the end of their shift. Adults and teenagers > 13 years are welcome to apply. |
| Skills Required: | - previous experience with child care/babysitting - clear criminal record/child abuse registy check if adult aged - must be comfortable seeing and interacting with people who have visible burn scars - must be willing to work with and care for children from diverse backgrounds |
