About the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition


The Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition (E-Gré) has been held annually at Brandon University since 1976, celebrating Canadian and contemporary music and supporting emerging artists at the threshold of their careers.


As E-Gré approaches its 50th anniversary in April 2027, we are launching a year-long national campaign to celebrate our legacy and shape an inspiring future



We are seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Directors and help guide E-Gré's financial stewardship and long-term sustainability.


About the Role


E-Gré is governed by a Board of Directors, focused on strategic planning, oversight, and long-term sustainability. Board members help guide the organization's future, strengthen community connections, and support the continued growth and impact of the Competition.


Commitment



  • Monthly Board meetings 9 months of the year

  • A three-year Board term

  • Act as a liaison with the E-Gré's banking institution

  • A commitment to supporting E-Gré's mission, governance, and long-term sustainability

   
Skills Required:

We are seeking an individual with financial leadership, accounting, or related expertise who is passionate about supporting arts and culture in Manitoba and across Canada.


Experience in several of the following areas would be valuable:



  • Chairing or serving on a Finance Committee

  • Reviewing and interpreting financial statements

  • Developing, reviewing, and monitoring organizational budgets

  • Monitoring financial performance and organizational risk

  • Working with external accountants during an annual review or audit process


A CPA designation is not required. Relevant financial leadership, accounting, business, or related experience is more important than a specific professional designation.


Previous Board experience is an asset, but not required.
