| Description of Duties: | WERC is currently seeking a driver/buyer to assist in the running of our food security programs. The main duties will be operating the WERC vehicle to collect fresh produce from retail partners and food donation organizations across the city for distribution to our community members.The driver will determine which produce items to purchase/select, load and unload the goods using the WERC-supplied van, and assist with distribution - including bagging of produce, staging tables in the resource centre, etc. WERC will provide the work vehicle for the volunteer shifts, fuel cards for fuel, a uniform (if required), and training. |

Food security is a major challenge for the West End, and the work of the driver directly impacts on health and affordability for our community members. As this is such an essential and impactful role, we do ask for a commitment to these hours and the program for at least three months. The community counts on the work the driver does. |
