| Description of Duties: | Winnipeg Folk Festival is seeking individuals for the Security Folk Training Program. The Security Folk Crew is an important part of our volunteer team. They specialize in de-escalation, take care of small problems before they become big ones and foster a great Festival experience for all. We care how we treat our Festival folks, so we have developed our own Festival Security training program. This program is an opportunity for individuals to increase their skills and gain work experience at the Festival and is provided at no cost to participants. | Skills Required: | Who Should Apply? This is an excellent opportunity for people interested in learning new skills and contributing to the Festival in a new and interesting way. The training offered can also provide other opportunities to work as a security guard at different events and establishments in Manitoba. Applicants who are already licensed security guards will only be required to complete topics not included in the Manitoba Security Guard Training Program. This program includes both in-person and online training. Only those interested in investing the time and who have the means to complete online training should apply. In-person training will take place in the evening or on weekends and be offered for a variety of dates to ensure accessibility. Qualifications and Assets:

| Skills Gained/Related Careers: | The Winnipeg Folk Festival is committed to providing quality training and investing in creating a security team responsive to the community. As such we request that those who participate in this training opportunity commit to volunteering on the Security Folk team for no less than three years. All training costs will be covered by the Winnipeg Folk Festival inlcuding the Manitoba Security Guard License. The training offered can also provide other opportunities to work as a security guard at different events and establishments in Manitoba. Applicants who are already licensed security guards will only be required to complete topics not included in the Manitoba Security Guard Training Program.
