Description of Duties:

Public & Press Relations: Write and distribute press releases, pitch stories to journalists, and manage media kits


Spokesperson Duties: Serve as the primary contact for media outlets, answer any incoming questions from media, and coordinate interviews. Speak on behalf of the organization at media launches.


Content Creation: Produce engaging written or multimedia content for website and email broadcasts to volunteers. Work with the Social Media Representative to coordinate appropriate messaging.


Reputation Management: Monitor news and social channels for brand mentions. Work with the Social Media Representative to address public relations issues or negative feedback proactively.


Campaign Tracking: Analyze media coverage data, track audience engagement metrics, and prepare performance reports

   
Skills Required:

Education: None required, but a bachelor's degree or diploma in communications, media communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing would be beneficial.


Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for pitching stories and handling sensitive inquiries.


Networking: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build a network of media local and national media networks.


Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with traditional Microsoft software, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.; ability to use social media and communication platforms appropriately.
