Organizational Description: Since 1971, with incredible donor support, Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba has raised more than $265 million to help children get the best care experience possible by funding leading edge equipment, improved healthcare spaces, and child and family-focused programs in hospital at HSC Children's Hospital - Manitoba's only Children's Hospital. The Foundation also supports more than 300 world-class pediatric medical researchers, at our Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba, involved in nearly $20 million of research and clinical trial activity each year with the goal of ground-breaking cures and clinically-proven supports for pediatric care in Manitoba and around the world.

Description of Duties:

The Teddy Bears' Picnic is an exciting free community event that relies on volunteers. Be part of this Winnipeg tradition by sharing your time and talent.


Areas in need of volunteers include:



  • Happy Hands Craft Tent: Help facilitate open-ended crafts with families.

  • Face Painting Tent: Paint attendee faces using provided stencils, or free-hand based off the simple suggestion sheet. No experience required.

  • Games Attendants: There are a couple game areas that require attendants the Gellyball Game area and the Games Corner (giant yard games). Attendants at these stations monitor lines and safe play.

  • Green Team: Help keep the event space, park, and environment a happy place by keeping it tidy during the event.

Shifts may vary based on volunteer duty but the majority have 2 shifts available.



  • Sunday, September 27th - 8:00am -12:30pm

  • Sunday, September 27th - 12:00pm - 4:30pm
