Organizational Description: Canadian Ski Patrol is a national non-profit registered charitable organization. Canadian Ski Patrol-Red River Zone is dedicated to provide Advanced First Aid to skiers and snowboarders at ski hills in Manitoba. CSP Red River Zone also provides first aid coverage at varied sporting events throughout the spring and summer. Certification training is provided by CSP instructors. Members must be 18.

Description of Duties:

Successful completion of provided advanced first aid course (Monday and Thursday evenings 6:30PM - 9PM, from Mid September - December) and onhill orientation.


Provide advanced first aid to injured skiers and snowboarders at ski areas or to general public at off hill events, transporting and hand off patients to advance medical care as requried.


Lift ticket provided during onhill shift.

   
Skills Required:

  • Intermediate level downhill skiing, snowboarding, or cross country skiing abilities is preferred, not required.

  • Advanced first aid is provided

   
Skills Gained/Related Careers:

Advanced first-aid training is provided. First aid course is a minimum of 60 hours in length and includes CPR, AED, and WHMIS training. Course material adheres CSA Standard Z1210-17.


Opportunities available to advance within organization to gain experience in leadership, instructing, and organizational management.

Available volunteer shifts will be posted and available for sign up at your leisure.


Shifts are available over winter season, Dec - Apr, at Springhill Winter Park, Windsor Park Nordic Center, Falcon Ridge Ski Slopes and Holiday Mountain Resort during operation hours on weekday evenings and weekends.
