Description of Duties:

Position title: Volunteer Assistant Winnipeg/Manitoba Program Manager
Organization: Gal Senior Care Foundation
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba, with hybrid responsibilities
Time contribution: 15 hours per month


About GSC


The Gal Senior Care Foundation is a registered Canadian charity that provides practical financial-fraud education to seniors and those who care about them. Through seminars, webinars, community outreach, and educational resources, GSC helps seniors recognize scams, protect themselves, and respond to fraud without shame or judgment.


Role overview


GSC is seeking a Winnipeg-based volunteer to support the development and coordination of its Manitoba programming. The Assistant Manitoba Program Manager will work with the existing Manitoba Operations Manager to build relationships with senior-serving organizations, coordinate presentations, recruit local presenters, and establish a sustainable Winnipeg program.


Responsibilities



  • Contact senior centres, residences, libraries, and community organizations

  • Help schedule and coordinate fraud-prevention seminars

  • Coordinate local presenters and volunteers

  • Maintain records of contacts, events, and follow-ups

  • Help recruit and onboard Winnipeg-area volunteers

  • Identify opportunities to expand GSC's Manitoba programming

  • Provide regular updates to GSC leadership


Qualifications



  • Located in Winnipeg/Manitoba or the surrounding area

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Comfortable conducting outreach by email and phone

  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently

  • Interest in senior care, community education, or nonprofit work

  • Relevant coordination, outreach, healthcare, education, or volunteer experience is an asset
