| Description of Duties: | Do you enjoy solving family history mysteries, exploring records, and helping others discover their roots? The Manitoba Genealogical Society is looking for volunteer family history researchers to help with research requests and support our genealogy community, Whether you have years of experience, or a strong interest in Manitoba history, archivesm records and research, we would love to hear from you. |
| Skills Required: | 1. Research skills - the ability to locate useful records, archives, databases, newspapers, maps, and public documents 2. The ability to compare evidence, notice contradictions, evaluate source relaibility, and draw careful conclusions instead of assuming every record is correct, 3. strong organizational skills including the ability to keep clear notesm file records, track sources, and maintaina research log. 4. The ability to explain findings clearly, cite sources accurately, and turn research into a family tree, report, biography, or family history narrative. |
