Description of Duties:

  • Candidate must submit a cover letter and CV after visiting our organization website: www.creativefoundation.org

  • Our candidate must be able to help children build a strong self-motivation through the lessons they teach.

  • Teach foundational biology concepts to students in Grades 9-11 relevant to Winnipeg science curriculum.

  • Lesson Preparation - Plan engaging lessons, demonstrations, and simple lab activities using accessible materials.

  • Student Support - Provide guidance, answer questions, and help students build confidence in scientific thinking.

  • Assessment & Feedback - Review student work and offer constructive feedback to support learning.

  • Classroom Engagement - Foster curiosity, encourage participation, and create a positive learning environment.

  • Collaboration - Work with program coordinators or other volunteers to align lessons with curriculum goals.

   
Skills Required:

  • Subject Knowledge - Comfortable with high-school level biology concepts. Retired biology teachers are especially welcome. Clever university students, even high school students can apply.

  • Communication Skills - Ability to explain scientific ideas clearly and patiently.

  • Classroom Management - Confidence in guiding groups of teens in a respectful, structured environment.

  • Adaptability - Willingness to adjust lessons based on student needs and learning styles.

  • Reliability - Consistent attendance and commitment to scheduled teaching times.

  • Enthusiasm for Learning - A genuine interest in inspiring young people.
