Held annually at historic Fort Gibraltar, the festival offers attendees the opportunity to sample a wide variety of dishes, discover new flavours, enjoy live entertainment, and connect with Manitoba's vibrant hospitality industry. Description of Duties:

Position Summary


Taste of Manitoba volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for all guests attending the festival. Volunteers will assist with guest services, ticket sales, entrance monitoring, and beverage service while providing exceptional customer service throughout the event.


Responsibilities


Front Entrance & Guest Services



  • Welcome guests as they arrive at the event.

  • Monitor entrances and exits to ensure alcohol is not brought into or taken out of the festival grounds.

  • Answer guest questions and provide general event information.

  • Direct guests to restaurant booths, beverage stations, washrooms, entertainment areas, and vendors.

  • Assist with crowd flow and help maintain a positive guest experience.


Ticket Sales



  • Sell food and beverage tickets using event procedures.

  • Handle debit and credit card transactions accurately.

  • Answer questions regarding ticket pricing and event procedures.

  • Maintain an organized and professional ticket sales area.


Beverage Service



  • Serve non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with event procedures.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of beverage stations.

  • Monitor inventory and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing.

  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service to guests.
