Description of Duties:

  • Planting and caring for flowers, shrubs, and seasonal plants.

  • Watering garden beds, planters, and hanging baskets.

  • Weeding and maintaining flower beds and landscaped areas.

  • Deadheading flowers and removing damaged plant material.

  • Assisting with seasonal garden clean-up in spring and fall.

  • Monitoring plant health and reporting concerns to staff.

  • Keeping garden areas neat, safe, and free of litter.

  • Assisting with special beautification projects.

  • Engaging with residents who are enjoying the gardens and sharing gardening knowledge when appropriate.

  • Supporting resident gardening activities and encouraging participation when opportunities arise.



   
Skills Required:

  • Interest in gardening and outdoor work.

  • Ability to work independently and follow directions.

  • Reliable and dependable.

  • Friendly and respectful when interacting with residents, visitors, volunteers, and staff.

  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform light physical activity.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds (9 kg) if required.

  • Previous gardening experience essential.
