Organizational Description: The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority's (WRHA) Community Health and Corporate Services Volunteer Program provides meaningful public engagement, develops effective partnerships, mobilizes appropriate volunteer and community resources, supports a positive working environment and enhances the WRHA's capacity to support and deliver quality services.

Volunteers are placed in the community, supporting a variety of programs within Public Health, Primary Care and Corporate.

Description of Duties:

Seeking individuals who have a personal passion for and a commitment to ongoing improvements to the mental health and addictions system and the quality of life of those living with mental illness and addictions. Members will represent the diversity of people that access mental health and addictions recovery services, caregivers, and community.

   
Skills Required:

  • Commit to Volunteer term of 3 years.

  • Attend required volunteer training and orientation as directed.

  • Interested in health and wellness.

  • Have good communication skills; and

  • must have the ability and openness to consider and share personal experiences, where applicable; and

  • must be non-judgmental, open-minded, and respectful of other group members' opinions and experiences.

Time Commitment:

Members volunteer for terms that are 3 years in length. On average, each group will meet 4 to 6 times per year, between September and May.
