About Us
The West End Cultural Centre (WECC), located at 586 Ellice Avenue in Winnipeg, MB, is a vibrant community-driven live-music venue with a strong legacy of presenting diverse performances ranging from folk to punk rock. Our more than 130 volunteers contribute thousands of hours each year to help make the venue welcoming, safe, fun and memorable.


As part of our commitment to community engagement, WECC plays an active role in the Ellice Street Festival - a lively celebration of local music, arts, and culture in the West End.


Volunteer Role & Responsibilities
As a WECC volunteer, you'll be part of our energetic crew helping to deliver great live-music experiences. Typical tasks include:



  • Supporting event setup and teardown (stage areas, vendor spaces, seating, signage)

  • Troubleshooting issues on-site and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment

  • During event support: anything from monitoring the chalk area, garbage, vendor or stage hospitality.

  • Providing general support before after and during event


Time Commitment & Schedule



  • Minimum commitment: 4 hours on festival day

  • June 6 2026 Festival Day

  • Monday May 25 6pm volunteer training date

  • Age requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.

  • No prior experience required - we'll teach you everything you need to know. What we do ask for: commitment, reliability, energy, and enthusiasm.

  • A genuine interest in live music and community arts is a strong plus.
