Description of Duties:

Winnipeg Heritage is looking for Volunteers for its annual Doors Open Winnipeg event on May 30-31 2026! Doors Open Winnipeg is a free event that is open to the public. This event fosters a welcoming environment for people to learn more about culture and heritage on various historical buildings in Winnipeg.


Volunteer shifts will be done all over the city, and will range from 9-5pm. Shifts are usually three-four hours in length. Volunteering for more than one shift is an option as well. In regard to volunteering, there are two roles which you can apply for, one being an ambassador, and the other being a tour guide. The ambassador's duties include: greeting individuals, counting the number of people in the building, and providing accurate information to the public. Tour guides on the other hand, should be confident in public speaking, and be able to provide correct information on your volunteering site.

   
Skills Required:

As a volunteer, you should acquire the ability to follow directions precisely, be able to work independently, and have a passion for the built heritage within Winnipeg!
