Description of Duties:

Transcona location only


Purpose:
LTC Survey volunteers support the Long Term Care program by meeting one-on-one with residents in personal care homes to administer the LTC Resident Experience Survey. This role plays a key part in ensuring residents' voices and experiences are heard and used to shape care improvements.


Additional Details:



  • Surveys run May 1 - June 30

  • Volunteers must attend one role specific virtual training session

  • Additional virtual self-directed training is required

  • Assist with administering survey responses by providing information on the reasons why we are collecting the data (follow script provided)

  • Assist residents with completing the survey (i.e. reading the questions to them, completing the forms, etc.)

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working with the elderly population is required;

  • Previous experience in health care is preferred;

  • Must attend all required training sessions and be flexible to commit to various days and times during the data collection period;

  • Be able to maintain an unbiased position about the facility;

  • Be physically capable of writing and asking questions at the same time;

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills;

  • Ability to communicate and engage residents in a friendly, supportive manner;

  • Ability to understand, give direction and express oneself in English in a clear, concise manner;

Time Commitment:
Daytime

Shifts take place during weekdays, mornings or afternoons and range from 3 to 6 hours based on volunteer's availability.
