| Organizational Description: | Voted the TOP Race in 2012 by Canadian Running Magazine, the Physio Fit Run has lots to offer participants of all fitness levels! We offer a 10K Road Race, 5K and 3K Fun Run/Walk and a 1K Kid's run. Proceeds from our event go to support Prairie Strides that provides adaptive horseback riding programs for children with disabilities and autism between the ages of 5 and 15. |

| Description of Duties: | The Physio Fit Run takes place on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at Assiniboine Park. Our event has 4 different races which will start at 8am at the Natures Playground Parking Lot. Volunteers will be emailed information in advance of where they will be positioned along the race and what their specific role/responsibilities are. Course marshals are required to ensure the smooth running of all races. These marshals are spread out along our course and are required to: 1.Provide direction to runners to ensure they are on the proper route; 2. Provide information to course organizers as to position of first/last runners; 3. Direct traffic, in certain roles (can request not), to ensure safe passage of runners; 4. Cheer on runners; 5. Watch for issues/medical emergencies and radio to organizers/medical staff as appropriate. |
| Skills Required: | This role requires excellent communication skills. A confident individual who is able to provide direction to runners/traffic and can easily take direction from our organizing committee. |
| Skills Gained/Related Careers: | This event is hosted by physiotherapists from Winnipeg/Manitoba. This is a good opportunity to meet practicing physiotherapists/student physiotherapists. It is a great opportunity to work with the public as well. All volunteers from all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to attend. |

| Time Commitment: | Daytime , Weekend Most volunteers can expect to spend 3-4 hours helping the morning of the race. Please note that the race takes place outdoors and to dress accordingly. |
