Organizational Description: The Royal Winnipeg Rifles Museum and Archives preserves the entire available history of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles by collecting, conserving, and displaying artifacts and archives. It also serves as a resource for educating members of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Regiment and the public about the Regiment's history. Additionally, it aims to encourage public interest, knowledge, and pride in the Regiment's activities and accomplishments while maintaining an up-to-date record of all Regimental memorials and monuments in Canada and around the world. It also is a resource for families who wish to research past soldiers.

Description of Duties:

- Manage museum and its collection, both displayed and archived
- Recruit and manage a small team of volunteers
- Coordinate special events and visit requests
- Label collection assets and maintain database records
- Maintain online museum presence including the website
- Partner with museum committee chairperson regarding acquisition of new and relinquishment of existing holdings
- Partner with museum committee chairperson to draft an annual museum budget
- Track and report on museum business to the Museum Committee at monthly meetings
- Maintain a relationship with the Commanding Officer and Regimental Sergeant Major of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles

   
Skills Required:

- Able to represent the museum to a variety of people including children, organizations,
institutions and dignitaries
- Comfortable interacting and working in partnership with volunteer leaders and military
members, both serving and retired.
- Experience managing public-facing customer service deliverers
- Good oral and written communications
- Good attention to detail
- Willingness to learn general military history and specifically the Royal Winnipeg Rifles history
- Able to climb stairs and lift 50 lbs
- Basic financial management and budgeting skills
- Basic computer skills
- Event coordination experience


The following skills not required but would be an asset:
- Second language
- Database management experience
- Experience managing volunteers
