Description of Duties:

Camp Manitoba - Paramedic Position Overview


As a Paramedic at Camp Manitoba, you will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where children living with arthritis can thrive. Working as part of the camp's medical team, you will provide first response care and support campers in managing their health needs throughout the camp experience.


Your presence helps ensure camper safety and provides reassurance to families and staff. By supporting campers' well-being and encouraging participation in activities, you will help foster independence, confidence, and meaningful camp experiences.


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide first aid and emergency response care to campers and staff

  • Monitor camper health and support arthritis-related needs

  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records

  • Collaborate with camp staff to ensure a safe environment

  • Promote healthy practices (hydration, sun safety, hygiene)

  • Communicate health concerns and support end-of-camp reporting

   
Skills Required:

Qualifications



  • Current Paramedic certification/licensure in Manitoba

  • Valid CPR-C and Standard First Aid

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Experience with children/youth is an asset

  • Vulnerable sector check required

Time Commitment
This role requires a five-night commitment at Camp Manitoba. The Paramedic is "on-call" during camp hours and must remain onsite for the full duration of camp.


Participation in mandatory pre-camp training is required, which may include virtual sessions and/or onsite orientation. The Paramedic may also assist with camper registration and help monitor transportation (e.g., camp bus) as needed.
