Description of Duties:

The success of Folklorama is due to the commitment and hard work of our countless Team Folklorama volunteers! VIP Tour Registration Volunteers will work alongside a Folklorama staff member and are the guests first point of contact for their VIP tour. You will ensure the guests are aware of their bus number and boarding time. Registration Volunteers will be in contact with other Folklorama Registration Volunteers to coordinate arrival and departure times at the other pick-up locations on the evening of their shift. Shifts are quite short and are a great introduction for someone who may want to one day be a Folklorama Tour Guide.


Duties and Responsibilities


As a Tour Registration Volunteer, you would be responsible for:



  • Welcoming guests as they arrive for their VIP Tour.

  • Registering guests and providing directions to the proper motor coach.

  • Crowd control as large numbers of guests arrive.

  • Set-up and take down of registration table and flags.

  • Answer any general questions about Folklorama from tour guests and the general public.

   
Skills Required:

  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups.

  • Excellent communication.

  • Work as a team with the bus drivers and Pavilions.

  • Participate in collaborative problem solving.

  • Experience using Better Impact and Dropbox is an asset.

  • Access to a cell phone is preferred.

  • Be punctual, enthusiastic, attentive, patient, and helpful.

  • Please note that for Pavilion volunteer positions, requirement of background checks is at the Pavilion's discretion.

Tour registration locations will be determined in the spring. Once you are contacted by the Manager, Group Tour Program and scheduled for an interview, you will receive further information regarding your shift and assigned location.
