Description of Duties:

School Programs Volunteer - Bocce & Track


Support inclusive school sport events by volunteering with Special Olympics Manitoba school programs. Volunteers play an important role in helping students with intellectual disabilities participate in fun and supportive sport experiences.


Bocce Officials


Volunteers will assist with officiating bocce games during the school bocce competition. Training and demonstrations will be provided before the event.


Dates & Locations:



  • March 24 & 25 - University of Manitoba Soccer Complex

  • April 7 & 8 - Leila Soccer Complex


Time: 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Volunteers Needed: 12 each day


Responsibilities:



  • Officiate bocce games

  • Help measure and determine scoring

  • Support athletes and teachers during gameplay

  • Ensure a positive and inclusive environment




Track & Field Volunteers



Volunteers will help run track and field events for school participants.



Dates & Location:




  • May 20, 21, 27 & 28 - Maples Collegiate



Time: 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.



Volunteer Roles:




  • Track Marshals - Help manage races and guide athletes

  • Field Event Attendants - Support events such as throws or jumps

  • Floaters - Assist where needed throughout the event

  • Volunteers are asked to commit to one or more event dates

  • Each shift is approximately 4 hours (9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.)

  • A short training and demonstration will be provided at the start of the shift
