Organizational Description: Organization Description:
The Gerhard E. Dekker Regenerative Education Centre promotes community well being through learner centred, play-based and nature-based educational initiatives. We embrace a learner-centred model inspired by Forest and Nature School (FNS) pedagogy, which supports the whole person in their unique learning journey, and has at its heart relationship with the land and place-based learning. Our programming encourages artistic self expression, appreciation of and care for the natural world, and learning to look after ourselves and others well. We are committed to truth and reconciliation and include Indigenous people, language learning, books, and teachings in our programming, promoting cultural learning in a heart-centred way.

Current Activities:
We offer nature based programs for children, youth and adults in the Eastman Region, including weekly and bi-weekly Forest & Nature School programming in La Broquerie and Stuartburn for ages 5.5-12, a free Families & Tots nature program in Grunthal & Tourond Creek for ages 3-6 and caregivers, and free all ages nature walks at a new trail in the region each month. ABC Come Breathe With Me, an 8-week, Indigenous-led breathwork program including the 7 Sacred Teachings, is free to attend and begins in April 2026. We are currently launching a series of Indigenous-led workshops and plant walks to be integrated with current & new programming. Community / Intergenerational Forest School launches in Spring 2026
