| Time Commitment: | Daytime , Remote Volunteering Time CommitmentArthritis Line volunteers are asked to commit to one, 2-hour shift each week. This consistent schedule allows volunteers to build familiarity with the role, develop strong relationships with callers, and provide reliable support to people affected by arthritis across Canada. We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months. This ensures volunteers have enough time to gain experience, grow their skills, and contribute meaningfully to the program while helping the Arthritis Society maintain dependable coverage for callers. Volunteers are also expected to participate in bi-monthly team meetings and occasional professional development sessions, which provide opportunities for learning, collaboration, and staying up to date on resources and best practices. We understand that volunteers may need flexibility for university exams, holidays, vacation, or illness. Open communication with the team lead ensures coverage while maintaining consistency for callers. Reliable scheduling is essential because callers rely on regular, knowledgeable support from our volunteers. |
