Description of Duties:

Description of Duties:


As a Race Timer, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and fair competition results. Volunteers will work alongside an official timer to record race times using manual stopwatches. These times are used to determine skater placements and advancement, and serve as backup timing when electronic systems are in use.


Duties include:



  • Accurately starting and stopping a stopwatch for assigned races

  • Recording times clearly and consistently

  • Communicating results to the official timer or race coordinator

  • Staying attentive during races to ensure timing accuracy

  • Working as part of a small team (4 volunteers per official)

  • Strong attention to detail and focus

  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures

  • Basic comfort using a stopwatch or willingness to learn

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment

  • Teamwork and clear communication skills

  • (No prior timing experience required - training will be provided!)
